Title: Triangulations, WIP 7/?
Pairing/Character: Logan/Veronica, ensemble and OCs
Word Count: 5268
Rating: NC-17
Summary: The epic continues. Sequel to Full Circle which can be found at my index.
Spoilers/Warnings: I went AU from 2.22, and now it is about 9 years in the future. Graphic smut, and possible violence once the mystery gets started.
A/N 1: prompts: gingerbread man, Intel processor (Full prompt list.) Awesome header by spikeshunny
A/N 2: Sorry it has taken me so long to get this chapter up. I have been in holiday lala land, and then I got sucked into Farscape... It's hard to maintain 2 addiction at once. *grins* But I'm back now. As tempting as Crichton is in his leathers, I'd much rather write Logan.

part 1 | part 2 | part 3 | part 4 | part 5 | part 6

Part 7

"Is Tori here? I'm a friend of hers from school."

Logan glanced up to see a young man, standing and looking artfully and fraudulently nervous in the doorway. Tori had never had any friends drop by, and Logan wasn't sure this was a start of a new trend. The guy looked too slick for down to earth Tori, too rich in that arrogant and careless 09er way.

For just a second, it was like looking into the past. This kid was obviously a shit, and he just as obviously expected to totally snow Logan into doing whatever he wanted. But there was a difference - Logan's eyes had always burned with barely concealed emotion, and this kid's eyes were flat, dead. Like Tilden's in those last moments at the Grand, or like Aaron Echolls' just before he gave a beating.

Logan's eyes narrowed and he felt a protective surge of anger well up in him. There was no way he letting this kid, who ever he was, get close to Tori. He suddenly understood Keith a lot more, and he longed for the smooth, heavy weight of the Mars family shotgun in his hands.

Logan stood and walked around his desk, towards the boy and the reception area. The kid watched him with a mild interest, but no fear. Good. It was better if the little shit didn't know what was coming. Logan got up close, just slightly in the kid's space, enough to use his extra inch or two of height to his advantage.

"I don't think you are a friend of Tori's," Logan said softly, letting just a hint of threat and promise edge his voice. "In fact, if I had to guess, I'd say you are part of whatever has made her hate school." A touch of surprise flickered through the kid's eyes, and he seemed slightly off balance for just a second before he recovered.

"Tori and I go way back," the little con artist lied smoothly. "I hate how rough things have been for her lately."

Logan pushed further into the kid's space and was gratified to see him falter and fall back a step. "I can see right through you and I don't like what I see. Stay away from Tori, or I will find a way to hurt you. Badly." Logan's voice was still soft, so much more deadly for its precision. He saw the anger flare up in the little shit's eyes, and he knew the kid expected Daddy to protect him. Logan remembered that feeling, that expression. He decided to clear a few things up for the boy.

"I can see you are not used to being held responsible for your actions, so let me spell things out. I'm not afraid of your father, who ever the hell he is." That got the creep's attention, though Logan could tell he did not quite believe it. Logan wondered briefly who the kid was. His father must have a lot of pull. "I have looked more than one murderer in the face, including my own father, and I've had lunch with the president. It takes a lot to impress me." Now that made an impact. "I'll speak slowly so you get it. When I say they won't find your body, I. Am. Not. Speaking. Metaphorically."

The kid twitched a little, his face slightly pale. Bull's eye. Maybe he would take the warning and stay the hell away from Tori. The Echolls legacy of murder and mayhem was useful sometimes. Logan let a slow, satisfied, and slightly feral grin spread across his face.

"You..." the kid stuttered, trying to hold his rich boy poise, but clearly shocked. "You couldn't..." Logan let his smile widen to show teeth. It wasn't all for show - Tori had become one of his own, and he would do what he had to do to protect her. And enjoy it.

"I'm sure I have as many friends as your dad, quite probably more. And not all of my friends are interested in finding legal solutions to things." Logan winked, and that playful act more than anything else struck fear into Jared. Logan read his victory on the kid's face - a face that clearly said, 'This guy is fucking nuts. And way out of my league.' Maybe the little shit wasn't so dumb after all.

Logan brought his own face back to a stern expression and raised his eyebrows. "Do we understand each other?"

"I, I - uh. Yeah. I'll just be going now." The kid turned around and practically scampered out the door. Logan chuckled to himself. Oh yes, Keith would be so proud. Logan hadn't even needed the shotgun.

Out on the sidewalk, Jared was cursing to himself. He had come to Athena on a fact finding mission, hoping to call Tori's bluff. But after his encounter with Logan Echoll's, who hadn't even known his name and yet threatened him with death and dismemberment in Tori's defense, he wasn't so sure it was a bluff anymore.

No way could he take on Logan Echolls and live to tell the tale. But he had to shut that stupid slut up somehow. This would take some slow and devious planning, and Jared specialized in slow and devious. He frowned. He was putting this on hold, but it was not going away. He was taking the bitch down, someday.

"Why so glum, Wallace baby? Mac and your lady love should be here soon." Veronica wiggled her eyebrows suggestively.

She had stopped by Keith and Alicia's to drop off a cute little puppy sweater she had gotten for Phobie, and found Wallace slumped on the couch. There was a piece of chocolate cake in front of him, and he had barely touched it. That more than anything told her all was not right in Wallaceville.

"Mac will be here. Gina's not coming." Wallace tried to keep his voice from hitching. Just because he felt like a disappointed four year old didn't mean he had to sound like one. "She's spending the weekend kissing ass to the lead partner in the war room because they go to court next week, and she is hoping that her summer associate position will turn into a job offer."

"But... she was going to try to get an associate position at a firm in San Diego..." Veronica had tried to stay out of Gina and Wallace's romance, tried to keep her distance and offer support. But she had been looking forward to having the crazy redhead within reach again.

She had also been looking forward to Wallace and Gina cutting out the "long distance" aspect of their relationship. It made for a cozy foursome to have them hanging around with her and Logan. But if Gina was considering a job up north, it did not bode well for Veronica's hope of eventually welcoming her to the clan.

Veronica dreaded being caught between one of her best women friends, and the boy who she had declared BFF and then upgraded to brother. All had seemed to be going so well between them, she had really hoped it was a permanent thing.

"Yeah, well, she was supposed to get a summer associate position at a firm in San Diego, and look how that turned out. The lure of a major Silicon Valley law firm was much more enticing. She likes playing with teh Big Boys." Wallace turned away and did a quick swipe across his eyes. Veronica pretended not to notice.

"I'm sorry," Veronica said sincerely.

"Don't you mean, 'I told you so?'" asked Wallace sardonically. "I guess I should have listened when you warned me against her. Why would a Stanford graduate litigation attorney want a small town physics teacher with a bum knee? She's headed for the Supreme Court and I'm hoping to move up to coaching Varsity."

"Wallace..." Veronica reached out to touch his shoulder. She was so used to being comforted by him, she wasn't sure how to handle being in the comfort giving position. And how could she say she had been afraid all along that Gina would break his heart? "It's just one weekend..." she offered, feeling how lame the excuse was.

"Yeah. Have fun with Mac. I think I'm gonna spend a quiet evening at home." Wallace grabbed his sweatshirt off the couch and headed out the door.

Veronica sighed. Should she call Gina? Or just let it go? It was so hard to know. She pulled out her cell phone, even grabbed Gina's number out of the phone list, but then she cancelled the call. Wallace was a grown up. He wouldn't appreciate the interference. And maybe it would all turn out all right. Veronica sighed again. Or maybe not. Damn Gina.

"Logan, are you ready?" Veronica asked, leaning into the Athena offices. Another day, another case. This one looked to be more fun than most, though.

"Mrs. E?" questioned Tori, goggling at the sight of her mentor in full flying nun regalia. "What's with the penguin suit?"

"Be careful, my child," warned Keith, stepping in the door and straightening his priest's collar. "Mock the Lord's fashion sense, and you just might be struck down by lightening."

"Mr. Mars?" she giggled. "What's Mr. E gonna be, an altar boy?" She watched the door to Logan's office open and was disappointed to see he was just dressed in darker shades of his normal clothes, a baseball cap pulled low over his eyes.

"I'm just the driver," Logan shrugged. "Too hard to disguise my devilishly good looks."

"Too hard to wipe the sinner's smirk off your face," countered Veronica with a smile.

"Ah, but the sinners are much more fun..." He sidled up to her and grabbed her ass. "As you well know," he murmured in her ear. "You may look angelic, but I know you too well. Every inch of you, in fact." Veronica blushed despite herself.

"Lust is one of the Seven Deadly Sins," remarked Keith reprovingly, a twinkle in his eye. "Keep your hands off the nun, heathen."

"Only if I get to desecrate her holy flesh later," Logan whispered, low enough that Keith couldn't hear. He bit Veronica's ear to punctuate the lascivious suggestion.

She closed her eyes for just a second, the image of his hands on her skin powerful in her mind, then pushed him away. "Stop trying to steal my virtue, Mr. Naughty Pants."

"Naughty Pants?" asked Logan with a raised eyebrow. "Is that the best you can do?"

"That's my girl, resist the temptation. Cast out the sinner!" encouraged Keith, patting her shoulder. He winked at Logan.

Logan gave Keith a wicked look, then tipped Veronica back for a full tongued kiss that made her knees weak. After ravishing her for several minutes, he set her back on her feet to blink wildly and try to recover. He preened quietly, supporting her until she could stand on her own, arrogantly smug in the pull of their sexual attraction.

Tori laughed out loud at the priceless expression on Keith's face. He should know better than to mess with Mr. E. "God, I love this job. Promise me I get to play dress up next time."

"Oh, you'll get your chance, sweetie," promised Veronica, wiping her brow and clamping her legs together to stop the ache. Damn Logan. How was she supposed to act like a nun with Niagra Falls between her thighs? "Soon. In the meantime, man the phones and stay out of trouble."

"Have fun storming the castle, boys," Tori quoted mischieviously. She shook her head and waved good bye. She worked in a nuthouse, and she loved it. Nuns and priests and surveillance, oh my.

A year ago, her life had been about school and clothes and cute boys. She thought of Tim and felt an ache, not for the loss of him as a boyfriend, but for the fact that he had turned out to be such a weak and worthless friend. Nothing like a spot of trouble to show who your real friends are. And hers all seemed to come back to Athena.

Tori sipped thoughtfully at the latte Mr. E had grabbed her on his break. She had a serious crush on Mr. E. but she figured it was only human. He was just so hot, and such a nice guy, too. The perfect mix of bad boy and hero. And Mrs. E... Mrs. E was everything Tori wanted to be someday, so that she'd be worthy of her own Mr. E.

They weren't really old enough to be her parents, but they filled something necessary, the two of them. They protected her, taught her, gave her hope. Hope and cookies.

She opened the paper bag Logan had brought from the coffee shop. Oooh, her favorite. A gingerbread man.

"Hmmm." She held the sweet little man up in the air. "I think I'll name you... Jared. What's that you say? What? Did I hear 'Eat me'? Why Jared, I would love to." Tori grinned a vicious smile and bit both legs off the cookie. "Does that hurt, little Jared? Oh, I'm so sorry. I really hate to hear you scream." She bit his head off with a giggle. "There, much better."

Tori stuffed the headless torso back in the bag. "I think that's enough for now. I wouldn't want you to give me a tummy ache." Ah, if only it were that easy to deal with the real Jared.

Mrs. E had gotten her friend Mac to hack the website Jared had made showing the pictures of Tori drugged senseless and stripped naked at the party. Mac had used the magic of photoshop to turn Jared into Satan and Tori into the Virgin Mary. Mrs. E had some pretty impressive friends all right. And it was good to know those damn pictures were off the internet, though Jared surely had back-ups.

Having Mr. and Mrs. E supporting her made Tori feel a whole hell of a lot safer. After the little confrontation at school, she had seen Jared coming out of the Athena office. He hadn't looked too happy, but at least he had been too preoccupied to notice her. He had studiously ignored her since then, so she was sure something had happened.

Mr. E was whistling when she got into the office, and then he had gone out for a coffee break. He came back with the first of the gingerbread men... one for her, and one for himself. He had proceeded to share his favorite technique for cookie man torture, and the glint in his eye said far more than words. Mr. E had her back, whether she chose to confide in him or not.

Tori sipped her latte and worked on some internet research Mrs. E had asked her to do. Yep, Athena was a nut house, but clearly, it was where she belonged.

"Mac. It's Veronica. I think I need to come up and visit." Veronica twirled her hair on her finger. "I know you were just down last weekend, but remember that project I showed you? Not the tribute to the holy mother, the other one." Veronica knew enough about cell phone interception that she always kept her conversations vague. You never knew who was listening, from Donald Rumsfeld on down the line.

"I told my friend what you said, and I don't quite speak enough geek to translate his response." Veronica laughed at Mac's indignant squawk. "Anyway, I think your place is a much... cooler... spot. Whaddayah say?" Veronica nodded, tapping her pen. "I'm hoping soon. Let me make some arrangements and see. Righto. Good to have my little Mackie with Intel Inside. Can't wait to have you process all this for me."

Veronica chuckled as Mac mocked her lame computer jokes. A buzz from the reception area made her cut the conversation short. "Tori's paging, gotta go. I'll call you later this week."

"Mrs. E," Tori said from the the speakerphone. "I think Mr. E's been playing with the dog whistle again. We got a stray hanging out in reception. And I'm not cleaning it up if he makes a mess in the corner."

Veronica peeked her head out of the office and laughed to see an out of uniform Deputy Lamb glaring at the teenager behind the desk.

Lamb looked from Veronica to Tori, narrowing his eyes. "It's too soon for that to be a product of you and Echolls breeding." He put his hand over his mouth in mock surprise. "Oh my God. You're cloning! That can't be legal."

"Deputy Lamb, meet Tori Aimes. She's Madison Sinclair's step daughter." Lamb looked puzzled for a moment, and Veronica was not sure if he was trying to recall Aimes Electronics, or Madison Sinclair. She decided to jog his memory a bit.

"You remember Madison, don't you? She graduated with me. Tall, blonde... well, sometimes. Oh, yes, and she really like elevators... and going down... As I recall, she had a healthy... respect for the long... arm... of the law, as well..." Veronica smirked as recognition washed across Lamb's face followed by a pale blush.

"Oops, wrong species. I should have guessed barnyard," joked Tori at the introduction. She glanced from Lamb to Veronica, taking a moment to decipher the innuendo. Then she started laughing. "Oh, man. Well, I'm glad to know 'mom's' taste improved when she met my dad."

Lamb seemed about ready to snark out a comeback, and then strangely, he halted. "I brought you something, Mrs. E," he said instead, oddly subdued as he handed Veronica a file and then turned abruptly to walk out. Veronica flipped through it quickly and then went after him.

"Wait." Veronica grabbed his arm. "What is this?"

"What does it look like?" he snapped, but the comment didn't have his usual edge.

"It looks like a file on the Mannings... " she said slowly, confused. "But it's not an official police file."

"Just because I couldn't arrest them doesn't mean I was willing to just let it go," Lamb said, seemingly impatient to leave. "I heard on the grapevine that you might be interested. It's yours now, little Avenger. Do with it what you will." At those words, he pulled his arm out of her grasp and hurried for his cruiser.

Veronica stared after Lamb for a moment, then went back to paging through the file. It was incredibly complete, including Grace's medical records and all of Meg's original emails to CPS. It also contained a signed aphadavit from Lamb stating what he had witnessed the night Duncan and Veronica found Grace locked in the closet.

"What do you know," she said under her breath. "Maybe the Tinman has a heart after all." She took a deep breath. "Tori, call Logan and tell him to come back to the office. It looks like we'll finally be bringing Duncan home."

Tori scanned her boss, wondering why Mrs. E didn't call her husband herself. But there was clearly more going on than she understood.

"Right on it, Mrs. E." Veronica didn't seem to even here as she closed herself in Logan's office with the file.

Logan wrapped his sleeves around his hands and gripped his knees tightly, rocking slightly in the sand. The waves were crashing at the beach in a steady rhythm, and it soothed him a little. The tide rolled in and out, sometimes higher, sometimes lower, but it kept a steady balance. Life was the same way... he was in high tide right now, all crashing waves and churning sand, but eventually things would even out.

He and Veronica had made the right choice coming home to Neptune, to Keith and Alicia and Wallace. It felt like home. This beach and the house he and Veronica shared, they felt like home. He tried to breathe deeply and let out all of his anxiety and uncertainty, let the stars twinkle some hope and faith into his heart. Sometimes it was hard to overcome the pessimism that had been beaten into him at a young age, but he was strong, and he had put a lot of effort into trying to recreate himself.

He was a new man now. The years of therapy had stood him well, and he had left the self-destructive legacy of his family behind. He had Veronica, and he had Athena. He had Rita and Felicia and Keith. He was making a positive impact on the world, wiping away the bad karma his father had created. When Logan examined himself and his life, he felt no regrets. Well, almost no regrets.

The evidence from Lamb was the final brick in the path for Duncan's return. Combined with Lizzie and Veronica's testimonies, it sealed the case against the Mannings. It helped that Duncan was willing to allow unlimited visitation as long as the Mannings were always supervised; it made him seem caring and reasonable. Logan's attorneys made the case that Duncan was really looking out for Lilly's best interests and always had been.

The judge bought it and dismissed the outstanding charges, sentencing Duncan to community service for resisting arrest and fleeing the country. There was a little added pressure from some information Veronica had discovered on Judge Bucelli's fondness for ladies underwear (the photos: priceless.), but Logan liked to believe the judge had seen the justice in pardoning Duncan and followed his conscience.

Duncan had suggested he work off his service at Athena as a sort of double payback, but Logan wasn't willing to take Duncan that fully into his heart. That was his regret. He couldn't make himself trust Duncan, as much as he wanted to.

Veronica was convinced that something was really going on at Kane Software. Roberts had found some irregularities in the current product development, and Veronica was planning on having him pow wow with Mac to try and suss out the angle.

Weidman had disappeared without a trace and Veronica suspected it was not to a happy end. Logan didn't doubt her. But he also knew the look he saw in Duncan's eyes - the bitterness, the longing. Duncan wanted the life Logan had - he wanted the house, the business, the family. Most of all he wanted Veronica.

Logan didn't blame him. It was a long time ago, but he still remembered the shoe being on the other foot. Logan stared out at the waves, the years washing over him. He remembered Cassidy on the roof, his accident, meeting up with Veronica again in New York. He had told Veronica they were epic once; she had just been joking about that recently. He wanted to believe their epic would go on, together, with children and grandchildren and growing old but staying frisky.

When it was only the two of them, that was easy to believe. It was when the rest of the world wanted in that life got harder. Ruthie wanted him to schmooze the Big Wigs for the Rita movie, the screenwriters needed his approval on each draft, his publisher was looking for a new book. Logan was driving to LA regularly, sometimes even spending the night away from Veronica. Occasionally she came with and they had a night on the town, but more often than not, she had her own work to keep her busy.

And then there was Athena. He and Veronica worked together on the cases, but that didn't always put them in the same room. He might be going head to head with some sleazy attorney while Veronica hunted through the guy's dirty laundry for a little bit of leverage. Veronica was also working cases for her dad. They lived busy lives, and they couldn't be together every minute. Logan admitted to himself that he had to keep busy, because he knew Veronica got sick of him occasionally and that hurt.

If he had his way, he would sweep them off to a desert island, like the Blue Lagoon, just the two of them scraping a living from the sea and coconuts. With Veronica scantily dressed, of course. Logan laughed ruefully to himself. Veronica would go crazy from boredom, and maybe he would too. She'd probably end up organizing an uprising of the monkeys or something.

Logan stood up and shook the sand off of himself. Time to end the lonely introspection and go back to his wife. His beautiful and sexy wife, who was probably dressed in sweat pants and a tank top, rather than a threadbare and provocative dress, but he didn't mind. She was still the most gorgeous woman he had ever met.

Veronica was working on her laptop when he got home. She looked up at him and smiled, "Good walk?"

Logan stood for a moment, just breathing and absorbing her. The way the lamp turned the highlights in her hair gold, spikes standing out from her bun like a crown or maybe a halo. The smile that lit her face, scrubbed clean of make-up and still looking as fresh as she did at sixteen.

"What?" she asked, a little self conscious. "Logan. You're staring." She touched her hair.

"You're nice to look at." Logan smiled, felt the happiness flood through him as he walked to the stereo. He dialed up Al Green on the ipod, then dimmed the lights. "Dance with me?"

Veronica tilted her head, puzzled and amused as Logan held out his hand. His smile was whimsical, but there seemed a wealth of emotion and searing intensity behind his eyes. Well, nothing particularly new about that. She closed up her laptop, and let him pull her into his arms.

I, I'm so in love with you
Whatever you want to do
Is all right with me
'Cause you make me feel so brand new
And I want to spend my life with you

Logan twirled her around the living room, dipping and spinning her playfully. He sang softly in her ear as he held her and swayed to the music.

Since, baby, since we've been together
Oohh, loving you forever
Is what I need
Let me be the one you come running to
I'll never be untrue

Veronica felt tears come to her eyes at the words, at this strange mood of Logan's. The judge's verdict had come back today exonerating Duncan and granting him full custody. Veronica knew Logan well enough to know he was conflicted about the fruits of his labor. He had been quiet since they got home, and he had been walking on the beach for hours. Even now, he didn't seem to want to speak, but he was saying so much with his body language, with his choice of music.

Let's, let's stay together
Lovin' you whether, whether
Times are good or bad, happy or sad

Veronica let Logan dance her around the room, enjoying the way they fit together, the way he could lift her effortlessly in his arms. They had been through plenty of bad times, plenty of sad times, and they deserved their happiness.

Whether times are good or bad, happy or sad

Why, why some people break up
Then turn around and make up
I just can't see
You'd never do that to me
Staying around you is all I see
Here's what I want us to do

Let's, we oughta stay together
Loving you whether, whether
Times are good or bad, happy or sad

The song faded out but Logan continued to twirl Veronica around the room, humming. On the last dip, he put his lips to hers in a gentle and sweet kiss.

"I love you," he whispered. "Always." He scooped her up easily, she was such a tiny little thing, and pressed kisses into her hair as he headed towards the bedroom.

He set her down on the bed, and again, he let minutes go by while he watched her, examined her, memorized her. Veronica let him look for a moment, but then it started to feel a little strange. She was too self conscious to undress, and so she just met his eyes with a quizzical expression. That seemed to get his attention, and he laughed a little and shook his head.

"You are just so beautiful," he said, overcome with emotion. "And I never really thought it was possible to be as happy as we have been. There's a little part of me that wants to save every second because I am sure some disaster must be lurking around the corner."

His words vibrated in her chest, squeezing her heart into an irregular beat. She knew that feeling: the distrust of happiness. That was their past speaking, but it didn't have to be true. She reached out a hand for him, all of her love clear in her eyes.

Veronica twined her fingers through Logan's, pulling him closer to join their lips, tender and soft. She slowly undressed him, scattering possessive kisses across his bare chest, his shoulders. She saw the puckered scar from the bullet wound on his side and she kissed it, her eyes wet with gratitude that she had not lost him that day. She traced the faint scars from his accident, other scars she didn't know the source of. She had come so close to losing him so many times.

When he was naked, she removed her own clothes so that they could join skin against skin. The usual fire that burned between them was banked, muted, though still hot. They moved as if through water, in slow motion, savoring the lingering touch of a cheek against stomach, or fingers brushing lips. Each motion felt heavy with meaning, pregnant with destiny. This was epic, another side of epic from the quick burning passion of their reunion sex or their playful role playing games.

"I love you," Logan seemed to whisper, though Veronica knew he hadn't said a word. It was all there in his eyes, those magnificently expressive brown pools that alternately soothed her, bathed her, and drowned her. She knew her eyes were sending him similar messages.

"I love you." Her lips traced the words down his arm, over his fingers, through his hair. She marked him, branded her love across his skin. Her eyes closed and her attention spread though out her body, each inch of skin alive at the contact with Logan. The rest of the world ceased to exist, and then was nothing, no time or space, no thought except silken skin against skin, slick with perspiration and desire.

The moment they joined physically was almost superfluous, anticlimactic, because they were joined in so many other ways. The pleasure peaked and faded, but their union remained. One soul, just as Logan had hoped so long ago, having the sentiment etched in the band that tied Veronica to him.

*Le sigh*... I truly do love this. I have missed it and Trixx did let me know that you were having a torrid affair with Farscape. I'm so happy that you finally updated though and because of the drought we have I believe we all deserve another chapter... like tonight -nod nod-

So many things I loved about this chapter, but I would have to say that my favorite is Logan defending Tori. He spotted Jared right off. It was probably like looking into a mirror of how he was when he was sixteen and I am so proud of Logan.

I wonder what happened to CW because it was most likely not good and that saddens me because I love his character. So I am definitely interested in that... but I wonder when VL will be blessed with a little one?.... That'll slap Duncan in the face... not only will he not only crave Logan's life, but he'll wish he was the fathers baby and that will cause some very emotional pain.

Great job, sweetie. Hurry with more soon.

I love it! Nice to see Logan being an OPJ once again, but for the right reasons obviously. Jared seems like a mini-evil Logan. Uh oh. That can't bode well.

Anyways, I love that Lamb helped bring Duncan back and I'm glad the Mannings were fried and nailed to the walls, the assholes. Can't wait for more!

Yay! An update! Well, this chapter was just chock full of good stuff. From furthering Tori's story line (that Jared worries me -- a teenage Logan without the underlying humanity is not a good thing), to poor Wallace and his rocky love life, Veronica and Keith dressed up for work/play and even Lamb. The scene with Lamb, Tori and Veronica was great! I am curious about the whole Kane software deal, and if it brings Mac in more, then I am even more for finding out what's what.

I also like that you bring in the emotional angles as well -- Logan's worries about his relationship with Veronica (although colored by the past more than most folks) show the balancing act that is marriage, work and life. You bring out the human aspects of the characters well, beyond the detective/smutty parts. Please update again soon! Farscape will still be there -- don't leave the readers hanging!

Must. Watch. Farscape.

But don't worry, I just started Season 4, so I am almost done. *grins*

Seriously, thanks for the compliments. I do try to make them human, with a real relationship. It's not all good times, but it doesn't have to be all crisis and melodrama either.

The whole gang wil be back soon - Mac, Wallace, Dick... Oh, yes. I have plans.

Another chapter to love :-) I agree with misa_05. My favorite part was when Lgoan defended Tori. It was just more proof of how far he has come since high school.

I also loved the whole scene starting with them dancing. It was just gorgeous. And I love that song :-) The whole description after they got into the bedroom, of how connected they are, how they let themselves be vulnerable in front of each other, got me a little choked up.

I'm glad that Duncan and Lilly get to come home, but I'm really worried he's going to cause problems for L/V. They've worked so hard to get where they are and I share Logan's fears.

I loved it, of course! I'm glad that Logan realized that Jared was up to no good and he finally understood where Keith was coming from...not to mention, I'm also glad Logan realized the difference between himself as a teenager and Jared. As for Duncan finally being able to come back for good now, Logan is smart to be worried when he knows that if he could, Duncan would wish him out of the picture and take over his entire life so he could be with Veronica. I also love that for the most part, he's secure enough that he's not questioning Veronica's feelings for her first life, but he's more wary about Duncan's intentions given how Duncan feels. At least Logan realizes that even though a slight part of him may be still the scared little boy, wondering if the people he loves will leave him, he gets on a rational level that Veronica is in love with him in a way she never was in love with Duncan because it was just puppy love back then...I also loved that Veronica is worried about Duncan coming back as well, its more because she's concerned about how Duncan makes Logan feel, not because she's worried she'll redevelop feelings for Duncan. As for the munchkin, hee...I'm glad she wants to be like Veronica so she can deserve a guy like Logan when she grows up...I think she's well on her way :) The part about the dog whistle was hilarious :)

I really needed this story. Great job as usual.

So I gots a question? Did Veronica just get knocked up?

The funny thing is RT and KB probably would be able to tell the difference between Jared and Logan - Hence the whole LoVe angst

The answer to your question is...
Not telling. *smirks*

I was hoping this wouldn't be so smutty since I'm at school. So I'll have to re-read thos eparts later. :)

Hey, this was way less smutty than usual!! *winks* Now the next chapter... yeah. I wouldn't suggest reading THAT at school.

Oh, Gert, I'm happy to see this up again. I've been sort of looking for it for the last few days.

I really do love what you're getting across with Logan and Veronica here--it's so fitting that they work so hard for something and still have to worry about the consequences of their actions.

As misa_05 and havemy_heart have said, that scene in the beginning with Logan and Jared was just wonderful, and so very much like something that Logan would do to anyone that he cared about now.

I had a rather small giggle fit when I read that Lamb came into the office and was a human being for once. The introduction by Veronica to Tori was also priceless! HEE!

Of course, I'm just as nervous as Logan about what the Donut return is going to mean, but I'll worry about that later.

The dancing scene sent me squeeing, quite literally. I saw the first line and just went "EEE!!". That was so moving, and so indicative of how far Logan and Veronica have come that they don't have to be going at it like rabbits to realize how much they love each other. The other side of epic is never a bad thing, I have to say.

You still have me wondering about CW and the things at Kane Software, and now I have to add the Donut worries, so I'm hopeful that Farscape hasn't stolen you from VM.

Sorry I have been out of it for so long... I actually have quite a bit written, it just needs polishing and some connecting material added.

Once I get back in the game, the updates should come a little faster. I hope.

Thanks so much for the new chapter. I love the cheese so the dancing was my favorite part.

Gah! Jared! Hate the guy! As much as I love the way Logan told him that no one will find the jerk's body, I am still wigging out about what he's got planned for Tori later. He better not hurt Tori any more! You better not plan any more grief for the little imp, or I will find you and punish you by making you watch hours and hours of Duncan scenes! LOL.

Love the Wallace scene. It's so true that he is used to comforting Veronica, not so much the other way around. Except on occasion. Hey, maybe she can feed him cake again! :)

"What's Mr. E gonna be, an altar boy?"

Hee! Did I mention I love Tori? :)

"I think Mr. E's been playing with the dog whistle again. We got a stray hanging out in reception. And I'm not cleaning it up if he makes a mess in the corner."

ROTFL! In case I haven't made it clear: I really love Tori! :)

There was a little added pressure from some information Veronica had discovered on Judge Bucelli's fondness for ladies underwear (the photos: priceless.)

You know what else is priceless? Little things like these that pepper your stories! :)

She'd probably end up organizing an uprising of the monkeys or something.

Hee. And Logan would probably end up leading the lemur opposition. :)

One soul, just as Logan had hoped so long ago, having the sentiment etched in the band that tied Veronica to him.

Sigh. Quiet and nice imagery. Double sigh. So, when will we see the next chapter? And I mean it: Do not hurt Tori! :)))
Olivia Bliviousgertinator on January 11th, 2007 02:27 am (UTC)
I'm glad that you like Tori, though you seem to be rather... overprotective of her. Am I to understand that I can do whatever evil I want to Logan and V, but I must leave Tori alone?? Sigh. Poor, poor Logan. I didn't plan to do that to him, but hiddeneloise said I couldn't hurt Tori, and I needed some drama...

In other news, I have absolutely evil ideas for your birthday fic. Mwahahahahahha! I can't wait!

This just gets better and better. I loved the bit where Logan tormented Jared and thought that Keith would have been proud... identifying with the awesome father Mars is a great way to lead to things like Lamb suggesting an Echolls breeding/cloning project and this: Each motion felt heavy with meaning, pregnant with destiny. Hmmm...

Of course, the little bit of dress up and the Veronica's introduction of Lamb to Tori was fabulous. It sort of recalled the part in "Look Who's Stalking" when she harassed Madison *grin*

Can't wait for more, of course...
